I am the Maid and Madam of this house

Life groups – ain’t they the Life giving groups?

I love hanging out with these amazing people every week, and 29th Jan 2019 was one of those awesome days again. It was the first time we opened up our home to this group for a session (Yeah! Surprising!)

The hall was reorganized – the sofa shifted from its regular place – I mean, change is good for the sofa too. The chairs which were always piled up in a corner now found a reason to serve their purpose – The last chair must’ve been very happy and thankful, after carrying all the other chairs in its lap all this while.

It started with tea (ginger tea) and snacks. Rice and chicken were busy saying their last prayers on the stove.

While Liz & I were having our own sweet moments, the real Einstein started off the session with a prayer and an icebreaker which was the integral part of our discussion. Thanks to the new series with lengthy videos – we decided to watch/listen to the videos individually at home and have a discussion when we all meet as a group. This gave us all a new benefit – everyone in the group was involved! No option of staying silent and no passing the baton.

As part of the icebreaker, I picked my note from the bowl with tiny neon sticky notes folded nicely into rings. Since it was a familiar verse, I thought to myself, I don’t really have to open the Bible to read it. Still, I turned to the scripture – Matthew 6:26

And, Boom! A wonderful revelation! Who knew there were hidden explanations lying inside? – so specific and so special for me!

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Matthew 6:26

The care-free birds get their provision for free, and they live a happy, peaceful life.

Sometimes, I feel stuck in life – being a stay-at-home mum; jobless, yet no time to pursue my passion – That’s how I defined my current way of life.

But, unlike the carefree birds, God entrusted me with a responsibility (I’m a wife, a homemaker and a MUM!!) – I am the maid and madam of this house! Wow! This scripture redefined my current status.

I am the Maid and Madam of this house!

Because He made me a part of His business, He would reward me (more than just the provision for my life) in due time. And who doesn’t like rewards?

May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord , the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”
Ruth 2:12

Now, you tell me – Am I not valuable than the carefree birds?

I am blessed indeed!
