Faith

Faith Vs Adversity

Feeling insecure and shy,
I gave a grin so coy.

The respect I had for you,
With those words you said it blew.

If friendship came with a package,
Were caste and religion included in the baggage?

Maybe you didn’t realize the damage,
Should I call you a friend or a savage?

The only regret I have –
It’s not the degraded look you gave.

E’en though I stood for my faith,
I couldn’t answer you straight.

I could’ve hurt you right back,
But I’m at peace for saving that smack.

Displayed my Christian values,
With silent patience that endures.

If only the hurt caused by a word,
Healed away like the wounds of a sword!

Yet, my amazing faith in Christ,
Could not be diced!

Have you ever faced a situation where you were looked down upon for your beliefs?

Here’s an encouragement for you –

If you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. 1 Peter 4:16

Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me (Christ).
Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven. Matthew 5:11‭-‬12
