Heart = Love?

Love – Isn’t that the most beautiful experience?

From the time we’re born to the time we leave this earth, we experience Love in different ways. Every experience beautifully etches an image and leaves a memory in our heart.

Our heart is a mixture of everything including Love, and the impressions that Love imprints on it. But, a lot of times, especially when we pictorially represent Love or a Heart, we mix them up and say, Heart = Love. This gives a picture that “Heart is only for Love” and “Love has the whole heart”. While the latter is true, let me tell you how Heart is something more than what we can display in a picture and how Love involves the whole heart.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. Jeremiah 17:9

Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23

Heart is a container of everything we do, every thought we think, and every imagination of our mind. We can choose to display only a part of what we contain in our heart, but our heart still holds up all the junk that we choose to drop in.

Love is not a feeling, not an emotion. Love is a practice that we have to exercise, to keep our heart fit and healthy, just as we try to keep ourselves physically fit.

Is patient and kind
Is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude
Does not demand its own way
Is not irritable
Keeps no record of wrongs
Does not rejoice about injustice
Rejoices whenever the truth wins out
Never gives up
Never loses faith
Always believes
Is always hopeful
Endures through every circumstance
Lasts forever!
1 Corinthians 13: 4-8

The picture above is one of my artworks (not open for orders yet), and it represents a heart full of love, with a bright red heart woven on a lovely golden backdrop. As you look at it, I pray that you would experience and exercise the true love, which bears eternal fruit.

The fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control. Galatians 5:22

When there is truthfulness in Love, all the other attributes follow.

But the greatest of these is Love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

And when your heart is full of love, it definitely shows up on your face. 🙂
